Diameter Range
We offer a range of sizes—from 16mm to 19mm—across two FitKit® trial sets. The only difference between the sets is diameter. And, BostonSight SCLERAL’s design is appropriate for simple ocular conditions to complex ones, so you can give more of your patients the results they deserve.

What additional fees should I expect when fitting BostonSight SCLERAL?
Pricing varies based on market. In the U.S. and Canada, with our value-added, all-inclusive pricing, there are no extra fees throughout the fitting process. Customizations are included with unlimited, no-charge modifications within 120 days. No extra charge for change in diameter (within respective FitKit® options), change in base curve, change in material, toric periphery, front surface astigmatism, or channels.
SmartSight HOA® (a feature beyond built-in SmartSight® FSE) and Tangible Hydra-PEG coating both incur a one-time fee per lens. (SmartSight HOA may not be available in all markets)
Which diameter FitKit® should I get for my practice?
Dr. Karen Carrasquillo, our Senior VP of Clinical and Professional Affairs and one of the chief architects of BostonSight SCLERAL, says that for smaller HVIDs, smaller apertures, more regular corneas, and patients with tighter lids and difficulty with application and removal, working with the 16-17 mm FitKit is advisable. If you see a lot of ectatic cones and grafts (>75D) working with the 18-19 mm FitKit is advisable.
What are the powers of the FitKit trial lenses?
All trial lenses in the BostonSight SCLERAL FitKits have +0.25 power with a base curve of 8.00. These parameters can be modified within FitConnect® when designing your patient’s lens.
What is your warranty policy?
BostonSight SCLERAL offers an unlimited exchange period, at no additional cost, for 120 days. Lenses can be returned for credit (with the exception of non-refundable shipping charges, Hydra-PEG coating, and SmartSight HOA) within 120 days of the date of the invoice.
The original invoice clearly marked “patient cancellation” must be included in the package with the applicable lenses and returned to BostonSight Specialty Lenses, ATTN: Lab Director, 464 Hillside Avenue, Suite 205, Needham, MA 02494.
All lens order cancellations and credits are processed through our Billing Department. For questions or to check the status of a credit, please contact 888-SCLERAL, option 4, or billing-inquiries@bostonsight.org.
Are BostonSight SCLERAL lenses shipped wet or dry?
BostonSight’s manufacturing lab ships lenses wet to keep them conditioned for optimal wear. Each lens will be supplied in a non-sterile plastic lens storage case filled with Boston SIMPLUS® Multi-Action Solution. Boston SIMPLUS Multi-Action Solution is a cleaning, disinfecting, and conditioning product that has an added protein remover. The solution needs to be replaced with fresh, sterile, and unexpired solution within 30 days from the manufacture date indicated on the lens label. Please refer to the Package Insert for additional instructions on lens care and handling.
Note: TRIAL SETS will continue to be shipped dry.
Do your lenses have an expiration date? How long do they last?
There is no set timeframe. Well cared for lenses that remain comfortable with good visual acuity upon regular visits may last multiple years. The most important thing is that regular, annual fit assessments (at the practitioner’s discretion) are made to determine if any of the changes to the fit need to occur.
What materials are available for BostonSight SCLERAL?
Our preferred material is the Optimum line by Contamac, Optimum-Extra, Optimum-Extreme, and Optimum Infinite. Other material options are Boston® EQII, Boston® XO2. Tangible Hydra-PEG is available. We also offer clear and ice blue tints. Ice blue is available only in Boston XO2.
